I’m Dan, and I’ve been working closely with primary schools for the past two years, supporting them with their recruitment needs. I’m currently working with a primary school in Colchester who are looking to appoint a long-term supply Year 1 Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, running until 17/07/2026.
The Year 1 Teacher role involves full class responsibility, including planning and delivering engaging lessons, managing behaviour, assessing progress and supporting pupils’ social and emotional development. You will be expected to carry out the full responsibilities of a class teacher, including attending staff meetings, marking books, completing assessments, attending parents evenings and communicating effectively with parents and carers. Working hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
