Aspire is working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in the M40 area of Manchester who are seeking an experienced and compassionate Primary SEND Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong background in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs or higher levels of need.
  • Deliver targeted support to small groups of children requiring additional learning help.
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and tailored interventions.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, communication or behavioural needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to review progress and adapt strategies.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with staff and, where appropriate, parents/carers.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting primary‑aged pupils with SEND (essential).
  • Confidence supporting pupils with a range of needs, such as ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH, or learning delays.
  • Experience working 1:1 and/or with SEND small groups.
  • Good understanding of differentiation and supporting pupils with diverse learning needs.
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient, with strong behaviour‑management skills.
  • Experience in a UK primary school environment is highly desirable.
  • No formal qualification required – experience is key.
