Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them thrive in a nurturing environment? We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in St Helens. You will be supporting children with complex needs such as physical disabilities, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, language and communication delays and Global Development Delay.

This is a full-time position where you’ll play a vital role in shaping young lives and ensuring every child receives the care and education they deserve.

What You’ll Do

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored classroom support to pupils with SEN, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
  • Assist with personal care needs, promoting dignity and independence.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with teachers and SENCOs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being, creating a safe and supportive environment.
  • Support small group and one-to-one interventions, helping children reach their full potential.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff, building strong relationships to support pupil progress.

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
