School Site Manager

Venn Group is working with a leading independent school to recruit a Site Manager to ensure the smooth running, safety, and compliance of multiple school sites.

Location: Wandsworth, London
Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per year
Hours: 47.5 hours per week (term time), 40 hours per week (school closure periods)
Leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays

Role Overview

The Site Manager plays a key operational role in maintaining buildings and grounds, managing a small team, and coordinating contractors. This is a hands‑on position requiring strong leadership and practical maintenance skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct site supervisors and contractors
  • Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Undertake plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks where feasible
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (fire safety, asbestos, legionella, COSHH)
  • Conduct regular inspections and update risk assessments
  • Manage budgets and procurement for planned works
  • Maintain site security and support school events
Essential Requirements
  • Experience in maintenance/facilities (carpentry, plumbing, painting)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
