The ideal candidate would have completed an accredited Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) training, and would have experience supervising others. However, the service would be willing to consider appointing a newly qualified Psychologist at Band 7 under a preceptorship that would enable them to work toward meeting the essential criteria for an 8a position within an 18 month - 2 year period (subject to satisfactory completion of the preceptorship process). This programme of development would include undertaking an accredited training in MBT.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be committed to working collaboratively with service users, carers, and colleagues to create a psychologically safe environment that enables the delivery of effective treatment. The post holder will be required to actively participate in weekly team consultation meetings, and will offer specialist advice, supervision, training, and consultation to other professionals and teams to support effective and efficient psychologically-informed care and treatment across Bedfordshire and Luton. We would particularly welcome interest from candidates who are committed to co-producing the development of the care pathway through participation in clinical research, audit and/or quality improvement projects.
