Job description

Brundall Medical Partnership is looking for a qualified nurse to cover a 12 month maternity contract, offered on a part-time basis for 27 hours per week. You will be a key team member, contributing towards high quality patient care and are have a diabetes qualification to carry out ongoing diabetic reviews.

The nurse is responsible for delivering a wide range of nursing services to the practice population. You will work autonomously within your own areas of competence and collaboratively with the general practice team in the care of practice patients.

Main duties of the job
  • Providing a wide range of nursing services to include the following areas. Training will be given where required
  • Patient care as directed by the Nurse Team Lead, Practice Business Manager and GPs
  • Assisting GPs with minor surgery and family planning clinics including coil fittings, implants
  • Chronic disease monitoring and reviews with patients which may include Asthma, CHD, COPD, Diabetes, etc, as required for patient care and QoF
  • Cytology smear tests
  • Diet and nutrition advice
  • ECGs
  • Immunisations, including childhood, flu. pertussis, pneumococcal and shingles
  • Injections including Depo-Provera, methotrexate and Zoladex
  • Minor injury walk in patients
  • Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
  • Venepuncture
  • Removal of sutures
  • Travel advice and vaccinations
  • Urinalysis
  • Wound care/ulcer care

You may be required to carry out other duties or tasks as delegated by management or the partners. You will need to have flexibility to covering sickness absence.

Brundall Medical Partnership, located in Brundall, are a rural friendly practice, we have approximately 8400 patients and dispense to nearly half of our patient list. Our team consists of two Partners, one GP and one ANP. We have three salaried GP's, a Paramedic Practitioner and Physician Assistant. We have two Practice Nurses, three HCA's. We also have ARRS staff which include a First Contact Physiotherapist, Social Prescriber, Mental Health Nurse and a Wellbeing team. We're fortunate to have outstanding dispensary, reception, and administration teams. We are a friendly well respected practice.
