Practice Nurse (Part-Time)

Location: Ryton

Hours: Part-Time (Flexible schedule available)

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly GP practice in Ryton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse looking for a part-time role within a supportive primary care environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care, supporting chronic disease management, and contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of our patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages

  • Conduct long-term condition reviews (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)

  • Perform cervical screening, wound care, childhood and adult immunisations

  • Undertake NHS Health Checks and treatment room duties

  • Assist with management of minor illnesses (where appropriate)

  • Support infection prevention, health promotion, and patient education

  • Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative team to ensure safe and efficient service delivery

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with practice and legal requirements

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (NMC registration required)

  • Experience working in primary care or a similar setting

  • Competent in chronic disease management and treatment room skills

  • Cervical cytology and immunisation training desirable

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Strong communication, organisational, and clinical assessment skills
