Job description

Marsh House Medical Practice is a teaching practice which trains GPRegistrars, Foundation Y2 doctors and medical students from year 1 to 5.

We are looking for a friendly and experienced Practice Nurse to join our team of 2 nurses, 1 trainee Nursing Associate and a HCA.

This position is working 2 days per week (9-6) and the hourly rate of pay will depend on experience and skill set.

Interviews to be held on Fri 3rd October between 12:30 - 13:30. Please note - Only successful candidates will be contacted. Previous Applicants need not apply.

Main duties of the job
  • We are looking for a competent Practice Nurse to carry out duties including Baby Immunisations, Cervical Smears, Travel Vaccines, all aspects of Wound care and preferably have a working knowledge of Diabetes Management.

We have a friendly, supportive team consisting of 5 GPs, 2 practice nurses, 1 Trainee Nursing Associate, HCA and admin/reception staff.

  • Adult Immunisations and Injections
  • Childhood Immunisations
  • Cervical Screening / Cervical Swabs
  • Assisting GP with Coil removal/Insertions
  • Coil Checks
  • Assisting with Minor Surgery Clinics
  • Blood Pressure and General Health Checks (Height, Weight, Alcohol consumption etc)
  • NHS Healthy Heart Screening Checks
  • Ear Irrigation
  • ECG recording
  • Venepuncture
  • Wound Care (including compression bandaging, suture removal and clip removal)
  • Ensuring Re-Validation is completed.
