The Vacancy

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Power Platform Engineer to join our Digital Services Function. As Power Platform Engineer, you'll work within our Enterprise Applications department which is part of the Digital Services function at the MTC, deploying and supporting the enterprise applications used by MTC colleagues. A Power Platform Engineer will be responsible for creating and supporting Power Platform based solutions inside and outside the D365 stack, reporting to and working alongside the Enterprise Applications Technical Architect. There will be a business appetite to integrate and create AI components and AI agents, so we will be looking for you to have either some experience with creating a solution using AI components, like chatbots or OOTB models or be keen to pursue rapid knowledge acquisition of the subject via relevant certifications.

You're main Responsibilities will include:

  • Support existing Canvas Apps, Flows and Power Platform features.
  • Design and develop well thought out, intuitive and engaging solutions using Power Platform including Canvas Apps, Flows and Model Driven apps and integrate into data systems like Dataverse, SharePoint and SQL.
  • Identify improvements and feature additions to existing apps and flows.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to capture their vision, needs and requirements and cater a solution design that delivers on their needs with an Agile methodology.
  • Create well thought out designs and schematics for solutions based on requirements including entity relationship diagrams, screen flows and GUI diagrams.
  • Support the Enterprise Applications team with 1st line ticket handling.
  • Ensure a positive support experience for end users.
  • Development of great relationship and trust with colleagues
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting and identifying how repeat issues can be avoided or mitigated.
  • Support customisations and/or integrations with other systems.
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Manage work through business process, established methodology and progress tracking.
  • Understanding/keeping up to date with new features in the Power Platform suite.
  • Carry out self-learning and certification with Microsoft technologies.

Who are we looking for?

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

Technical

  • Good knowledge of Power Platform features, tools and capabilities.
  • Experience creating and supporting Canvas Apps and Power Automate Flows.
  • Experience using and managing SharePoint sites, lists and document libraries and other M365 suite apps.
  • Experience with Dataverse and SQL.
  • Experience using Power Platform environment management tools.
  • Experience using Azure.
  • Have a broad technical understanding and genuine interest in digital information technology concepts, including emerging AI concepts.

General

  • Should have an aspiration to work with AI/Agentic development using Microsoft CoPilot and Agents and pursue relevant certifications.[HR2]
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems technologies (not essential).
  • Experience working with different business functions and their processes/needs.
  • Great team player aiming to add value and skills to the whole team.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience creating and/or customising Model Driven Apps.
  • Knowledge of how to create/utilise APIs.
  • Knowledge or experience of D365 Finance and operations administration.
  • Experience using Microsoft Lifecycle Services.
  • Knowledge and/or demonstrated use of AI and creation of AI agents.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and associated processes including Application Lifecyle Management (ALM) concepts and tools.
  • Power Platform certifications: PL-100 and 200.
