Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Gloucester. This permanent role involves delivering letters and parcels, with a 37-hour weekly schedule, including some weekends. You will drive a Royal Mail van and work outdoors in all weather, building relationships with customers on your route.

You'll receive full training, a uniform, and benefits as part of the role. A valid manual UK driving licence (max 6 points) and readiness to pass a driving assessment are required.

Location: Gloucester North Delivery Office, GL3 4EE

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37:00 hours per week – working 6 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday for four weeks fifth week off – 07:00/15:30*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work one in five Sundays at Gloucester North Delivery Office working between 09:00/17:30

About You

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags

• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
