Royal Mail Group in Dursley is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a permanent contract. You will deliver letters and parcels in your local area, drive a Royal Mail van and walk routes, with full training provided and a fixed 30-hour week across Monday to Sunday.

This role is outdoors, physically active, and may include weekend work and shifts at Gloucester South Delivery Office. The pay is £13.68 per hour, paid monthly with overtime available.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - working between09:00/15:00*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
