Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Tewkesbury is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels from the local delivery office. You will work on rotating shifts, up to 37 hours per week, across Monday to Sunday, with some weekend work and paid overtime.

Location: Tewkesbury Delivery Office, GL20 8GT

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -07:00/19:00* Supporting two separate shifts, either Letter Deliveries or Parcel Deliveries.

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
