A leading healthcare provider in Liverpool seeks Part-time Porters to support essential hospital operations. The role involves patient transport, meal delivery, and equipment management, requiring strong communication and customer service skills. Successful candidates will be adaptable, physically fit, and capable of working calmly under pressure. Previous experience is advantageous, and an NVQ2 qualification is required. The position offers a flexible work schedule over weekends, with a total of 15 hours per week.
Porters are required to work Saturday and Sunday shifts supporting the Porter Services Department at Liverpool University Hospitals (Royal Liverpool Site). The role requires an experienced, capable individual with high standards of communication, a positive work attitude, a smart appearance and polite manner, and excellent customer service skills.
Key responsibilities include supporting service improvements and encouraging high productivity, maintaining confidentiality and discretion, prioritising workload and multi‑tasking, and delivering a customer‑focused Porter service.
Part‑time, 15 hours per week on Saturday and Sunday.
The Porter plays an instrumental role in the smooth running of the hospital: moving patients, delivering patient meals, and managing the safe movement of medical equipment. Porters must work quickly and calmly in emergencies, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, listen and empathise, remain patient and tolerant, maintain physical fitness, and follow instructions within tight time constraints.
An understanding of SOPs and policies relating to the area.
