Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

As the head of the planning departments for Special and Optical cables, you will manage a team of planners in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for:

  • Continuously review and translate customer and business needs into a management system that ensures exceptional on-time delivery, product availability, and accurate lead times, maximizing business potential within inventory constraints.

  • Provide regular updates to the Commercial Department on production order status, stock levels, and accurate lead times for inquiries and new orders.

  • Generate detailed forecasts and production schedules to maintain high levels of customer service while ensuring efficient use of plant and labour, considering preventative maintenance and engineering activities.

  • Chair daily meetings with the Operations Manager and Shift Coordinators to discuss order status, stock levels, and agree on short- and long-term production schedules and labour requirements.

  • Work closely with the Distribution Manager to ensure timely manufacturing and efficient dispatch activities through effective communication of lead-time information.

  • Ensure adequate levels of raw materials and packaging are maintained according to the manufacturing plan by effectively understanding the supply chain.

  • Become fully conversant with existing SAP and MES systems and lead any future developments.

You are the right fit if you have/are:

  • Proven experience within a similar role. Significant experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, preferably in logistics, manufacturing, or purchasing.

  • Hold analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication with internal customers and departments at all levels.

  • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach, capable of working independently and leading a multi-functional team.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office Applications and SAP. Experience of Kinaxis Maestro a benefit

  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet demanding deadlines, and possess excellent organizational skills.

What we offer you:

  • 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays

  • Defined Contribution pension scheme and generous life assurance

  • Yes Share Scheme – annual enrolment

  • Health Care Cash Plan – scheme which provides reimbursement of optical, dental and chiropody fees up to set limits.

  • 24/7 free and confidential employee counselling service

  • On-line Language Learning Access

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave and pay

  • Generous sick pay arrangements

  • Dell Advantage discounts

  • Rewards Portal – discounts on major retailers

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Free onsite parking
