Job description

Our client, a respected and growing organisation within the food ingredients sector, is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Planning Coordinator to support its continued operational success. This on-site role offers an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual to take ownership of key planning and production support activities, ensuring smooth workflow and on-time delivery across the business.

Job Role

Based on-site Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm, the Planning Coordinator will play an integral part in supporting production scheduling, stock control, and documentation management. Reporting to the Production Planner, you will help coordinate batch paperwork, maintain accurate system records, and liaise closely with internal departments to keep operations running efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Raise batch documents within agreed timescales to meet production deadlines, including checks for dynamic formulations.
  • Prepare customer sample batch documents, complete DF checks, and process raw material write-offs.
  • Book finished goods into the system to enable timely dispatch.
  • Allocate raw materials in line with company procedures and support stock rotation through coordination with the Prep Room.
  • Request and track raw material transfers to align with production timelines.
  • Provide loading instructions and specification labels as part of batch documentation.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure raw materials are delivered, sampled, and processed within required timeframes.
  • Support or cover daily planning of production and packing schedules when required.
  • Resolve allocation or document queries and authorise batch changes for production and warehouse teams.
  • Work closely with production team leaders to minimise plan changes and optimise resource use.
  • Participate in meetings as requested.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Production Planner or Line Manager.
Personal Profile
  • Degree-level education or equivalent (e.g., CPIM certification) is advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
