Overview

Permanent - full time or part time available (Mon-Fri). Mixture of remote and assessment centre working, offering an exceptional work-life balance. This Disability Assessor role is for Physiotherapists seeking to utilise and develop clinical skills within a brand new healthcare environment.

As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for Work Capability Assessments (WCA) as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). You will complete assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, and some assessments may be conducted remotely.

An in-depth, fully paid training programme is provided, and the role counts towards clinical hours to maintain registration.

Responsibilities
  • Use your clinical experience to understand how health conditions affect daily life and contribute to the assessment of disability impacts.
  • Work in an office environment and at home to complete detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments via telephone, video, or face-to-face interactions.
  • Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.
Requirements
  • We can only accept applications from Physiotherapists for this vacancy.
  • HCPC registration is required.
  • You must have at least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
  • Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential.
