Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant with proven experience in delivering Phonics Intervention? We're seeking a dedicated, skilled individual to join a supportive primary school environment in Accrington, Lancashire, to help our Key Stage 1 and Early Years pupils achieve reading and writing confidence.
If you have a strong understanding of systematic synthetic phonics programmes and a desire to make a measurable difference to children's early literacy, we want to hear from you!
Delivering Targeted Interventions: Planning and leading engaging, structured phonics keep-up sessions for small groups and individual pupils identified as needing additional support, primarily in Early Years (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1).
Tracking and Reporting: Monitoring and assessing pupil progress using the school's chosen phonics programme (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds), and providing detailed feedback to the Class Teacher and SENDCo.
Resource Creation: Creating tailored, effective, and multi-sensory learning resources to support targeted phonics skills.
Classroom Support: Providing general classroom support to the Class Teacher, promoting good behaviour, and assisting with pupil engagement in literacy and numeracy activities.
Safeguarding: Upholding the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Essential Experience: Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or delivering phonics interventions in a primary or EYFS setting.
Phonics Knowledge: Strong, working knowledge of a systematic synthetic phonics programme. Relevant training (Read Write Inc., etc.) is highly desirable.
Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
Qualities: A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach with a true passion for early literacy and supporting pupils' self-esteem and independence.
Qualifications: A relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
