Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, enthusiastic Band 3 Phlebotomist to join our CQC‑rated 'Outstanding' Trust.

Based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, you will be working with a team of Phlebotomists. The department is expanding its opening hours and will be open Monday to Friday between 08:00‑18:00 hrs and on alternative Saturday mornings between 08:00‑13:00 hrs. We are a busy, dynamic department and would like to hear from suitable qualified people.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
  • Ensure safe collection of blood samples according to agreed procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate and accurate labelling and dispatch specimens to laboratories.
  • Answer the telephone and deal with calls politely and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Recent phlebotomy experience (minimum 6 months) and expected to complete local competency assessments.
  • 30 hours per week, part‑time.
