Job description

We are recruiting Pharmacy Technicians to work as part of a multidisciplinary, patient-facing team in the South Primary Care Network (Doncaster South PCN). The role is based within The South Primary Care Network, supporting a team that includes six pharmacy technicians, eight Clinical Pharmacists, and Care Coordinators allocated to each practice. Technicians benefit from the support of a large Pharmacy team with protected time for weekly collaboration, and those on study pathways (e.g., CPPE Pathway) receive an additional half day per week for study. The role involves all aspects of Pharmacy Technician support including liaison with community pharmacy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to Clinical Pharmacists and other pharmacy services within the Primary Care Networks
  • Carry out medicine optimisation tasks
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for medicines
  • Support the implementation of national prescribing policies, including Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
  • Provide support to patients
  • Maintain professional operational standards and excellence in pharmaceutical care and safety across general practice and the PCN
  • Support medicines-related clinical correspondence, repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, reduce medicines waste, and maximise patient outcomes
Qualifications
  • Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Flexible in approach, able to work across multiple practices within the PCN
