Job description

Overview

Job title: Pharmacy Porter (Band 2). Location: Warrington Hospital. Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) with weekend, late night and bank holiday working on a rota basis.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individual to join the pharmacy team. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, a good standard of education (GCSE grade C in Mathematics and English language or equivalent), and the ability to manage priorities and time effectively. A good level of fitness is required.

Responsibilities

• Transport medicinal products to wards and departments, including controlled medicines, ensuring timely delivery to aid patient flow.
• Discharge prescriptions and discharge prescriptions containing controlled medicines to wards as required.
• Assist with loading deliveries into the pharmacy automated storage system and support the flow of medicines requiring delivery outside the pharmacy department.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of deliveries and assist with housekeeping duties when needed.
• Work to service needs with weekday hours between 08:45 and 19:00, and on rota basis for weekends and bank holidays.
