Job description

The Pharmacy Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to support us in the delivery of pharmacy services at HMP Northumberland. Are you looking for a new career in prison healthcare? Or maybe you are a community Pharmacy Dispenser looking for a new challenge? If so, this may be the job for you! This is an opportunity to join our committed team working to provide a variety of support roles across the establishment. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you must be able to work well as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. If you are a motivated individual with a desire to enhance your pharmacy skills, we can offer a wide range of training and development opportunities.

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high‑quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security. The post holder will be an integral member of the Healthcare Team and will support the delivery of Pharmacy Services, which will include the supply of medication, supervision of the administration of medication to prisoners, and providing services to service users within your competency.
