Job summary

A community healthcare provider is seeking a Pharmacy Dispenser to enhance support in prison healthcare. This full-time role offers training opportunities and involvement in medication supply and administration. Ideal candidates will have NVQ level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences and at least 2 years of experience in pharmacy. Excellent communication skills are required. Location: HMP Northumberland.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience of working in community/hospital pharmacy.
  • Experience of working in a prison environment or similar setting.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to support us in the delivery of pharmacy services at HMP Northumberland. This is an opportunity to join our committed team working to provide a variety of support roles across the establishment. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. If you are a motivated individual with a desire to enhance your pharmacy skills, we can offer a wide range of training and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security. The post holder will be an integral member of the Healthcare Team. You will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will include supply of medication, supervision of administration of medication to prisoners, and providing services to service users within your competency.
