You will need to have completed a NVQ3 in Business Administration/Customer Services, RSA3 or have the equivalent experience to meet the criteria listed on the job specification. The successful candidate will need to show focus on attention to detail and have good communication and IT skills. A confident courteous telephone manner is required as well as a willingness to learn new systems of work. A Pharmacy Stock Management qualification is essential to perform duties outlined in the job description. If you do not currently have this qualification but meet other criteria and you are the preferred candidate, as a requirement of taking the post, it will be mandatory that you complete this course within 6 to 9 months of being appointed. Training will be provided to support and develop you to complete the course to ensure you are able to fulfil all requirements of the role. As part of this role you will be expected to show initiative, be able to work independently and at the same time be a good team player. For workload to be managed and deadlines to be met, it is essential for you to demonstrate that you are efficient and well organised. You will also be required to be professional, demonstrate sensitivity and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Strategic context

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030). We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities. Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve. About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust: https://www.uhleicester.nhs.uk
