A local educational institution in Bristol is seeking a Personal Development Tutor to support students through their academic journeys. The role involves delivering engaging tutorial sessions and providing tailored support through pastoral check-ins. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. The college offers a supportive environment, competitive benefits, and various opportunities for professional development.
One of our key strategic aims is our unrelenting focus on our people-first culture, ensuring you feel valued, empowered, and recognised for your individual contributions and expertise whether that be in a teaching capacity or a professional services team. All colleagues within the College contribute to the success of our students and we actively work to eliminate any barriers at work, ensuring you have the opportunity to thrive.
As a Personal Development Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting students throughout their academic journey, fostering their personal, social, and emotional well‑being. You will meet with groups of students weekly to deliver engaging and meaningful Personal Development tutorial sessions, designed to empower them to thrive both personally and academically.
In addition to delivering these sessions, you will conduct pastoral check‑ins with students, offering tailored support and signposting them to appropriate services to help address their individual needs. Through these interactions, you will build positive, trusting relationships with students, understanding their curriculum and offering empathy and compassion to help remove barriers to their learning.
You will bring strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with students, colleagues and external stakeholders. Your confidence and approachability will help create a supportive environment where students can reach their full potential.
