Personal Injury - Asbestos Principal Lawyer - Cardiff - 8+ years PQE

Location: Cardiff (Hybrid Working Available)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £70,000 to £90,000, dependent on experience

Chadwick Nott is recruiting on behalf of a leading social justice law firm for a Principal Lawyer to lead their nationally recognised Asbestos team. With a century-long legacy of landmark litigation and advocacy, this firm is at the forefront of asbestos-related legal work and continues to fight for justice on behalf of those affected by industrial disease.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position within one of the UK's most experienced asbestos litigation teams. Youll be responsible for:

  • Leading complex asbestos disease claims, including mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis
  • Managing high-value caseloads and overseeing strategic litigation
  • Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
  • Engaging with trade unions, medical experts, and support organisations
  • Driving legal reform and contributing to public campaigns for justice
  • Representing clients with compassion, clarity, and tenacity
Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a senior lawyer with:

  • 8+ years PQE in personal injury or industrial disease, with significant asbestos litigation experience
  • Proven ability to manage complex, sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills
  • A commitment to social justice and client-centred legal practice
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior colleagues
  • A collaborative mindset and interest in wider policy and reform
Working Arrangements

The firm offers flexible working arrangements across its national office network, with hybrid options available. Travel may be required for client meetings, court hearings, and team collaboration.
