Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Personal Assistant (PA) to support my son, Jorden, in his daily activities. Jorden is a lively, happy child who enjoys water play, nature walks, and giving hugs when content. He requires assistance with various outings and activities, particularly those that cater to his interests and needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Sensory Room Visits** – Accompany Jorden to Elev 8 in Broadstairs to utilize the sensory rooms. Ensure he feels comfortable and engaged during sessions, leveraging his membership benefits.
  • **Swimming Activities** – Take Jorden to Ramsgate Leisure Centre for swimming sessions. Support him in enjoying water play while ensuring his safety.
  • **Outdoor Activities** – If weather is nice and warm, take Jorden to the park to enjoy nature and outdoor play. Be attentive to his needs and preferences during outings.
  • **Holiday Playgroup Sessions** – During school holidays, assist Jorden in attending playgroup sessions at Millers Sure Start Centre. Ensure he is comfortable in this environment and engaged with available activities.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand non‑verbal cues.
  • A nurturing and patient demeanor, capable of providing emotional support.
  • Ability to adapt to Jorden’s preferences and dislikes, including avoiding loud noises and unfamiliar places.

Payment

£12.21 per hour, 8 hours during term time and 12 hours during school holidays.
