A local government council in the UK is seeking a caring and flexible Personal Assistant to support a disabled lady with her daily routine. This role involves assisting with activities related to her horses and ensuring her safety and independence. The candidate must have a full driving licence and experience with horses, offering competitive hours of 12 to 15 per week, primarily during spring and summer months.
A committed, caring, flexible and mature Personal Assistant is required to support a disabled lady for 12 to 15 hours per week to manage a daily routine for herself, her horses, sheep and guide dog. Also required to enable her to access national level Para and RDA dressage competitions and training.
This post requires a patient and understanding attitude in order to reassure and support this lady plus the experience of working with multiple horses. The ability to plait, clip and turn out to county show standard is essential as dressage for disabled riders demands dedication and high standards of riders and their supporters.
Required for 3 mornings per week plus competitions in South Wales for 1 or 2 days per month and nationally for 2-3 days approximately 3 times a year. (Spring & summer only).
Riding, teaching and exercising are NOT a part of the job remit.
No personal care duties are involved in this post but it may be necessary to share female accommodation at competitions.
A full driving licence is essential.
Possibility of some social activities for the right person.
Working in employer's homes and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
A Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS) / criminal record check will require to be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of job offer.
