A local council service is seeking 2 caring, friendly Personal Assistants to support a lady with a disability. You will help with daily living tasks, provide companionship, and help her maintain independence. A driving license is essential. This role offers a flexible working schedule of 23.5 hours per week.
2 caring, friendly and passionate Personal Assistants are required to support a lady with a disability with daily living tasks for 23.5 hours per week. Hours can be split between 15 and 8.5 hours per week. A driving licence is essential for this role. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended for this lady to maintain her independence.
Support with personal care, as required and to involve (but not exclusively) washing, showering and dressing.
Assist with applying cream to legs. Support with accessing toilet facilities.
Support with her nutritional needs.
Personal Assistant is to support with some incidental cleaning; this includes wiping down kitchen surfaces and washing dishes following the preparation of her meals, spills to the floor are to be wiped up to prevent slips and falls; and bedding is to be changed and laundered as and when required. Support with accessing community venues and supporting with trips out. Support with shopping.
Motivational Support.
Working in employer's homes and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job. Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated. Reliable and good time-keeping, sociable and good sense of humour.
To be able to work independently.
Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
Good communication and inter-personal skills.
Must have a fun loving personality.
Must be a non-smoker. A full driving license.
A Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS) / criminal record check will require to be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of job offer.
