Job description

Lesley is an active and sociable individual who enjoys keeping fit, spending time with friends, and taking part in activities such as swimming, adapted sports, music, and sensory experiences. She’s looking for a kind, reliable, and supportive Personal Care Assistant who can help her maintain her independence and continue living life to the fullest both at home and out in the community.

As Lesley’s Personal Care Assistant, you’ll provide one-to-one support with both daily living and social activities. A typical day might include assisting with personal care such as showering, toileting, or shaving, helping to prepare a healthy meal or snack, or heading out for a walk or swim. You may also support Lesley with household tasks such as shopping, collecting prescriptions, or accompanying her to local activities and events.

You’ll be helping to promote independence and confidence while ensuring Lesley has the practical support she needs to enjoy her favourite things. The role involves pushing a manual wheelchair and occasionally driving a mobility vehicle, so a driver is essential. (Lesley also drives, so you’ll both share time on the road!)

There’s also a friendly dog in the home, so you’ll need to be comfortable around pets.

Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. What really matters is a warm, caring nature, a positive attitude, and good communication skills.

If you’re someone who enjoys helping others and would love to support Lesley to stay active, independent, and connected, we’d love to hear from you.
