Job summary

A local community support service in Wadebridge is seeking a personal assistant to support a 14-year-old girl with a genetic disorder and developmental delays. The assistant will help with communication, independence skills, and community activities, primarily focusing on building a positive relationship. This role offers up to 7 flexible hours per week, mainly on weekends and school holidays, at an hourly rate of £12.60. Job description

A personal assistant is required to support a 14-year-old girl living in Wadebridge. She has a genetic disorder and developmental delays and would like someone who she can build up a positive relationship with and provide her with some 1:1 support.

She would like someone to support her with her communication and gaining independence with life skills. She loves technology, swimming and visiting theme parks.

A personal assistant will enable her to enjoy activities in her local community and with her family.

Up to 7 hours per week are available, and this is flexible. Mainly weekend and school holiday availability will be required.

The starting rate of pay is £12.60 per hour.

Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people is essential. A full driving licence is desirable.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
