Overview

The Education Training Collective (Etc.) is a dynamic group of colleges and training providers delivering high-quality education and skills training across the Tees Valley. We have recently been awarded an Outstanding Ofsted rating and are excited to invite you to join our Creative team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Performing Arts to join our Creative team reporting to our Curriculum Manager for Creative and Digital. The Creative team at SRC includes Level 2 to Level 4 programmes in Acting for Stage and Screen, Musical Theatre, Dance, Art and Design, Creative Makeup and Film and TV. We work with local, regional and national stakeholders to deliver a robust, innovative curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver performing arts to a range of students with a specialism in performance; prepare learners for assessments, performances and examinations.
  • Provide individual and group tuition tailored to different levels of ability; contribute to curriculum planning, scheme of work development and assessment strategies.
  • Inspire confidence, creativity and stage presence in learners; maintain accurate records of learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Safeguard the health, well-being and safety of students and staff, including vulnerable learners; promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Adhere to the Prevent Duty and safeguarding requirements while promoting British values.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd or equivalent).
  • Experience with digital learning tools and recording software (e.g., Logic, Pro Tools or similar).
  • Ability to prepare learners for assessments, performances or auditions; industry experience as a performer or vocal coach is highly beneficial.
  • Experience of working with SEND learners is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate, support and engage learners.
