Overview

If you have excellent people and computer skills, then we have a great position working for our leading company based in Thrapston.

Staffline is recruiting for a People Assistant to work in Thrapston.

The pay is £13.20 on a 22.5hrs 4 day shift pattern. Some flexibility will be required to meet the demands of the client. This is a temporary / ongoing role with an immediate start. Training will be given once started.

Responsibilities
  • As a People assistant, you will work in the site office as part of a team and undertake the following duties:
  • Support the People Advisor and site Management team with Employment Relations issues, in particular sickness, disciplinary and grievance - including advising and case handling on cases, such as absence and investigations. Partnering with the team managers on site, supporting on key issues and providing pro-active advice to support colleagues.
  • Supporting managers in the administration of disciplinary and grievance meetings, including note taking and issuing invite and outcome letters. Drafting and checking ER letters, and authorising them being issued
  • Assist with absence recording and monitoring attendance, including long term sickness, welfare meetings and Occupational Health referrals as required. Control and reporting on HR analytical reports and data, supporting the advisor and People Manager with identifying any trends and root causes of absence and turnover.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of confidential HR records.
  • Responsible for liaising with central HR and Payroll teams.
  • Contributing towards the improvement of processes/methods of operating practices within the department.
  • Responsible for updating notice boards at sites.
  • Producing regular management reports i.e. labour turnover and sickness absence.
  • Assisting the People Advisor with the provision of generalist HR advice to line managers.
  • Assisting in employee engagement and communication activities along with adhoc project work.
  • To assist the HR team with policy and procedure implementation in line with the site and company terms and conditions.
  • Completion of documentation to a high standard for submission to our Shared Services department.
Qualifications
  • Our Perfect Worker: Our ideal People will have people skills and be computer literate. You will be able to enter data into the relevant system and experience of using Excel spreadsheets. Strong attention to detail and Comfortable in a pressurised environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the Transport industry but this is not essential.
