Our client is a leading global packaging manufacturer, specialising in the Pharmaceutical and Beauty industry. Their Packaging offers deep market understanding gained through years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Beauty industries. They work closely with their customers to provide bespoke, ground-breaking solutions for their clients packaging and security needs. Due to growth, they are now seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their team based at their Newmarket Site.
Reporting into their HR Business Partner this role will support the delivery of the UK payroll function on a part-time (20 hours per week), 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension. This is a hands-on, operational role responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely processing of UK payroll, working closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll integrity and effective reporting.
The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with Ceridian Dayforce, a sound understanding of UK payroll legislation, and the ability to support payroll reporting requirements for Finance. HR administration experience is advantageous, particularly where it supports employee data accuracy and payroll inputs.
Support the end-to-end UK payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in line with statutory and company requirements.
Maintain and update payroll data within Ceridian Dayforce, ensuring employee records are accurate and up to date.
Process payroll elements including salaries, overtime, bonuses, statutory payments, and deductions.
Work closely with HR to ensure starters, leavers, contractual changes, and absence data are accurately reflected in payroll.
Prepare and support payroll reporting for Finance, including payroll cost reports, reconciliations, and month-end data as required.
Assist with the preparation and submission of statutory payroll reports, including PAYE, NIC, pension contributions, and other relevant filings.
Reconcile payroll outputs and support payroll checks prior to sign-off.
Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner.
Support continuous improvement of payroll and HR administrative processes and documentation.
Keep up to date with UK payroll legislation and highlight changes or risks appropriately.
Provide cover and support during peak payroll periods as required.
Proven experience in a UK payroll role (Payroll Coordinator, Payroll Administrator, Payroll Assistant, or similar).
Hands-on experience with Ceridian Dayforce is essential.
Working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, pensions, and statutory payments.
Experience supporting payroll reporting and reconciliations for Finance.
HR administration experience is advantageous, particularly relating to employee lifecycle data.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines accurately.
Confident user of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
Clear and professional communicator, comfortable working with HR, Finance, and the wider business.
Payroll or HR-related qualification (e.g. CIPP) desirable but not essential.
Relevant payroll and / or HR administration experience essential.
