Pay Delivery Officer

East Midlands region, Nottingham office : 28 hours per week

We are willing to consider flexibility on working hours. If you would prefer different hours to those listed above, please indicate the hours you want to work in your application.

Salary range per annum : £49,275 - £55,668 pro rata*

Imagine being faced with a world of exciting possibilities that could ultimately enable you to support our members and help shape the health policies of the future. As the UK's largest trade union and professional body for nursing, we support over half a million members with unwavering loyalty and total commitment. We represent and develop them, support their practice and lobby on their behalf to make a positive difference to their working lives.

As a Pay Delivery Officer, you will use your enthusiasm, positive thinking, and engagement skills to support our members to understand their rights and build confidence to make meaningful change. You'll be working with staff, reps and members in your region to organise activities to raise awareness about the RCN's key pay, terms and conditions campaigns, with a large focus on job evaluation and the rollout of the recently launched suite of new national nursing profiles. You'll work with members to organise on pay locally and hold employers to account where it is needed. Empowering our members will be your primary role, but you'll also see the possibilities that new members can bring as you work to organise on pay locally in your region.

To join us you'll need a sound knowledge of nursing pay, terms and conditions, as well as skills in organising and energising members to take action. This will include planning projects, events and delivering training. Ideally you would have a good knowledge of job evaluation in the NHS, along with a background in activism, organising or campaigning. You'll need to be a well organised self-starter and able to work in a team. Strong relationship-building skills are key in this role. Whatever your background, you'll be efficient, accurate and show a real member focus in all you do.

To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing all you need to do is think bigger, better and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything's possible.
