Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and protection of intellectual property portfolios across diverse scientific and technical domains
  • Conduct prior art, infringement and Freedom to Operate (FTO) searches
  • Assist with patent drafting, analysis and technical due diligence
  • Evaluate scientific research and innovation identify new opportunities for IP generation
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, translating complex technical insights into clear strategic recommendations
Requirements
  • Educated to PhD level in Chemistry, Physics, or Biochemistry, or equivalent scientific degree with relevant experience in research or intellectual property
  • Proven experience gained in academic research or the scientific industry
  • Demonstrated interest in intellectual property and its role in commercialising innovation
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Highly organised, adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Self‑motivated and collaborative, with a proactive approach to learning and professional development
Desirable
  • Experience in patent drafting, invalidation searches, infringement searches and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses
  • Familiarity with IP law, patent databases and technology landscapes
