Pay Rate: £93 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Lead to join schools in Wakefield. As a Pastoral Lead, this role is ideal for someone who is committed to providing social, emotional, and pastoral support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

As a Pastoral Lead

you will play a key role in:

  • Building positive relationships with pupils to support their emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans.
  • Encouraging a positive school culture by promoting respect, confidence, and resilience.
  • Helping pupils to manage challenges that may affect their attendance, behaviour, or progress.
Requirements for Pastoral Lead
  • Experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, or student support role is desirable.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
