Responsibilities

  • Control ordering, receiving and supply of all parts and inventory.
  • Check in and sign for all parts and inventory on arrival.
  • Ensure parts allocated to jobs on company systems.
  • Carry out annual stock takes.
  • Produce monthly stock reports.
  • Ensure correct stock labeling and storage.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers.
  • Collect and deliver parts in the van when required.

Overview

Parts Controller Required - Automotive Sector.

8 hour shift. No weekends.

Job summary

To control the ordering, receiving and supply of all parts and inventory for this automotive client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for checking in and signing for all parts and inventory on arrival on all sites (Peterborough and Corby).
  • Responsible for ensuring all parts are allocated to jobs on company systems as required.
  • Responsible for providing purchase order numbers to suppliers as requested.
  • Carrying out annual stock takes and controlling stock levels throughout the year.
  • Producing monthly stock reports or as required for submission to accounts.
  • Responsible for ensuring all stock is labelled correctly and stored in the correct locations.
  • Ensuring all stock is stored in an organised manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that part numbers are up to date along with prices and stock quantities on company systems.
  • Greeting customers on arrival and signing for the delivery or collection of vehicles.
  • Generate and maintain meaningful relationships with suppliers - including parts distributors, manufacturers, trailer & body builders and others.
  • Work closely with parts / production / fabrication departments.
  • Supporting the Parts Supervisor and Workshop Managers.
  • Support the business in providing and delivering a high quality service to internal and external customers of the department and business.
  • Must have a full, clean drivers licence.
  • Collect and deliver parts in the van when required.
  • Compliance with all relevant health and safety requirements including the correct use of personal protective equipment.
Essential Qualifications and Skills

Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Commercial Vehicle parts experience in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of / exposure to UK parts distribution network.
