National Instruments in Antrim-Newtownabbey is seeking a part-time catering assistant with a focus on cooking and meal preparation for a school setting. The role involves assisting the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor, ensuring hygiene standards, portion control, and menu planning.

Working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, you will support service points, assist with stock-taking, training of staff, and promoting the service to parents and customers.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent or higher.
• Two years’ experience of food preparation and cooking in a catering setting.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices.

Responsabilités

• Assist with the full range of cooked meals and menu prep.
• Support record keeping and hygiene/temperature controls.
• Supervise staff and assist with service point operations.
• Assist with stock-taking, stores/fridge organization and deliveries.
• General kitchen duties and training of staff as needed.
• Promote the service to parents and customers to increase uptake.
