Job summary

St Clare's Abbey Primary School in Newry is seeking a Mobile Cook to support the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. You will assist with menu preparation, ensure hygienic kitchen operation, and supervise staff as needed in a school setting.

The role involves stock management, service at multiple points, and promoting the school meal service to parents and pupils. Excellent teamwork and ability to work under pressure are essential, with 25 hours per week, Mon-Fri, in a part-time arrangement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in food preparation or equivalent or higher
• Knowledge of HACCP
• Willingness to undertake job related training
• Must have access to suitable transport for mobility requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of menus and portion control
• Record keeping and hygiene/health & safety in kitchen
• Supervision of other staff where applicable
• Stock-taking and stores/receiving deliveries
• General kitchen duties including washing up and cleaning
• Promote the service to parents and customers to increase uptake
• General duties to ensure secure premises and service delivery
• Assist in service points including transported meals
