Overview

A great opportunity to work as a sales assistant for Bath’s longest-established carpet shop. This is a part-time position, up to 18 hours per week, including two weekdays and every Saturday (working independently on Saturdays). It will also involve holiday cover.

A well-respected, privately-owned business, we operate in the middle to top end of the flooring retail market, offering a wide range of quality flooring to domestic and commercial customers.

As one of the public faces of our flooring business, you will need to be confident in serving a wide variety of customers with varying needs and be able to self-manage multiple ongoing projects. You must have proven sales experience, preferably within the flooring industry, although training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Talking to customers in person and by phone, understanding their requirements and providing advice on products and their application; arranging measuring and fitting appointments.
• Liaising with the Directors and fitting teams, relaying messages from customers and suppliers, and assisting with managing the measuring and fitting diaries.
• Adhoc administration tasks (scanning, filing etc.)

Essential requirements

• Previous sales experience, preferably within the flooring trade
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Competence in basic maths
• Good standard of computer literacy
• Ability to forward plan
• Ability to work efficiently on your own and as part of the wider team
• You must be organised, well-presented, a good timekeeper, honest, trustworthy, and reliable.

Rate of pay - £15 per hour
