About us

PML is a successful not-for-profit, GP-led organisation providing various NHS community and primary care clinical services to patients across Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. We have evolved as a NHS healthcare provider since 2004 and in the last few years have grown significantly, now employing around 300 staff with a turnover of circa £16m. PML holds GMS contracts, as well as being a GP Federation representing circa 50 GP practices covering approximately 650,000 patients.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care through autonomous clinical decision-making, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of conditions.
  • Support patients with acute and chronic conditions, creating personalised care plans that integrate drug and non-drug-based therapies.
  • Perform home visits for housebound patients, acting as the eyes and ears for the GP team to ensure early recognition and management of health concerns.
  • Actively engage with patients to promote healthy lifestyles, delivering targeted advice on disease prevention and management.
  • Facilitate referrals to community and specialist services to ensure patients receive holistic, ongoing care.
  • Work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care within defined pathways.
  • Provide enhanced clinical advice to internal stakeholders and external partners, such as the ambulance service and district nurses.
  • Participate in a structured development program, progressing towards qualifications such as a Level 7 (Masters) in Minor Illness and Injury and a Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
  • Engage in reflective practice and continuous professional development, attending clinical meetings and contributing to the development of best practices.
  • Support the practice\'s administrative workload, including handling pathology results and electronic records.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, risk assessments, and service evaluations, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
