Job summary

A healthcare transport company in Leicester is seeking experienced Paramedics for emergency patient transfer work. Candidates must have at least 2 years of post-qualification experience and preferably NHS Ambulance Service experience. Job description

The work involves working out of Leicester Royal Infirmary. Tasks involved are PTS / emergency patient transfer work (inter hospital transfers) with an opportunity to work in a busy emergency department.

Our preference is for staff who live locally and can commute daily to work. We do have some accomadation for those travelling from further away.

Main duties of the job

Paramedics are required to have a minimum of 2 years experience (post NQP period), and previous NHS Ambulance Service experience is desirable. Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (L3CERAD) or the previous IHCD BTEC level 3 in Emergency Ambulance Driving with evidence of recent driving assessments. A C1 licence is desirable for the role, but not mandatory. A clean work record is essential for the role. Up to date continual professional development (CPD) is a pre-requisite for the post, and candidates invited to interview are expected to produce evidence of this, along with original professional qualifications.

Please note we require a minimum of 2 years experience post qualification period/signed off hours.

All posts are offered on a variable hour contract and are PAYE positions with the company who are IR35 compliant. Also, for those who travel away from home the company provide fully paid bed and breakfast at a local hotel (with a daily living allowance). This is a complete and comprehensive package for the right candidates.

With all the roles advertised above daily work includes managing ambulance admissions into the ED, taking handovers from crews, performing tasks such as cannulation, 12-lead ECG, the usual patient observations, patient assessments, inter-hospital transfers for example.

Be accountable for the assessment, treatment, diagnosis, supplying and administering of medicines, managing, discharging and referring patients in a range of urgent, emergency, critical or out of and in hospital settings.

Contribute to the development of an integrated approach to the delivery of unscheduled/out of hours care involving all relevant stakeholders including health and social care organisations.
