Role Summary and Purpose

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Paralegal to join the Legal department supporting Arch Insurance International. This role provides support to our operations across the UK, Europe (France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy), and Australia.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality legal and administrative support across a broad spectrum of business areas. This position offers significant exposure to diverse legal work within a leading global insurer, providing an excellent platform for professional development.

We are looking for an individual with a genuine interest in the insurance sector and a desire to be at the forefront of legal technology, specifically in leveraging AI to enhance the delivery of legal services.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Support the drafting and review of a wide range of corporate and commercial contracts (e.g. non-disclosure agreements, broker remuneration/distribution agreements, supplier/service agreements, SaaS agreements, settlement agreements)
  • Coordinate execution, signature, notarisation, and legalisation (apostille) of documents, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Maintain document repositories and templates, ensuring accurate record-keeping and version control
  • Provide support on advisory matters, projects, M&A transactions and litigation
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries for the team
  • Handle routine legal matters under supervision
  • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements, including with the use of AI and other technologies
  • Review and update legal policies and procedures and assist with compliance monitoring
  • Log risk events in accordance with internal policies
  • Liaise with business stakeholders to clarify instructions and ensure completeness of legal requests
  • Assist with ad-hoc queries and requests for information from the business
  • Support the drafting of departmental communications and maintain the Legal team’s intranet site
  • Assist with training sessions, legal projects, and departmental initiatives
  • Contribute to the Legal Department’s knowledge base by updating precedents, forms, and process documentation
  • Monitor deadlines and key dates for legal matters, ensuring timely follow-up and completion of tasks
  • Support the Legal team in the preparation of reports, presentations, and updates

Qualifications
  • Law graduate or non-law graduate who has completed the GDL
  • Completion of, or currently studying towards (on a part time basis), the Legal Practice Course (LPC), Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), or a Bar Vocational Course (e.g., BTC, BPC, BPTC)
Experience
  • Previous paralegal experience desirable, ideally within corporate, commercial or insurance law
  • Familiarity with insurance sector or financial services is an advantage
