Overview

We are excited to announce that our Paediatric Emergency Department at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary is looking for Registered Children’s Nurses with significant ED experience to join our friendly, supportive and growing team as a Band 5 Staff Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and be part of an evolving and developing service.

The Department provides care for children with acute and urgent physical and mental health needs, as well as those with complex and long-term conditions.

We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end-of-life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services. We also provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services and operate within the NHS framework.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registered Children’s Nurse with significant Emergency Department experience.
  • Band 5 level, with enthusiasm for development and a readiness to work in a demanding environment.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and preceptorship programmes; support available from a clinical educator specialized in Emergency Department training.
