A prominent healthcare provider in Greater London is seeking a Band 6 paediatric nurse to support clinical research in children's haematology and bone marrow transplant. This role offers the opportunity to gain clinical research experience and work within a dynamic team. We are recruiting for a Band 6 paediatric nurse who has experience in the care of children with haematological conditions, including sickle cell anaemia and thalassaemia, who have undergone Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). We have a busy and expanding portfolio of commercial clinical trials in these conditions, including the investigation of treatments involving novel gene therapies. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who would like to build clinical research experience into their nursing career.
The priority for this post holder will be to support the existing paediatric clinical research staff already working on these high intensity BMT and haematology studies. There will also be a requirement to support the other studies delivered on the Children's Clinical Research Facility (CCRF) at St Mary's Hospital. Although the post is primarily based at St Mary's Hospital, there may be requirements to travel to other sites at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as part of West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH).
Previous experience in clinical research is not essential as the successful candidate will be trained by the existing clinical research team. They will be educated to obtain a working knowledge of, and compliance with, local, national and international research regulations. The successful applicant will also be supported by the Band 7 BMT Research coordinator and all senior research staff on the CCRF.
