Job summary

Job description

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner passionate about working in Urgent Care or Walk in Services? An opportunity have arisen for a Paediatric Nurse Practitioner or Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner within our inner London Walk in Service.

As a highly valued member of our team, the quality of care we provide starts with you. We pride ourselves on our ACP/ENP's being up to date with the latest evidence-based practices as well as being supportive of our staff in their professional development. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously, delivering care to both paediatrics and adults, whilst utilising expert diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning to provide autonomous, unscheduled care for patients presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions. If the post holder does not have relevant adult experience initially, they will be supported by our Practice Educator and Clinical Lead to gain the relevant skills and clinical experience required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver care in collaboration with Emergency services, other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies.

To work in association with colleagues in defining standards of care and practice aimed at maintaining, developing or improving quality.

To work with the senior staff in the operational management and the organisational development of the service.

Act as the team Leader on a rotational basis assuming responsibility for day to day management of the service.

Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.

Achieve competencies in both paediatrics and adults through working with our Practice Educator to ensure a high standard of clinical and diagnostic skills

Communicate complex and sensitive information to patients, carers and other staff.

Deliver care within a culturally sensitive framework.

Implement, carry out, disseminate and evaluate service audits

Education/Qualification
  • Registered Paediatric Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Level 7 Advanced Clinical Assessment Module or Minor Illness Experience and/or minor injury L6/7
  • Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete)
  • Qualification in prehospital care or community care
  • Adults advanced assessment module or minor illness modules
Experience
  • Experience in autonomous working and diagnostics
  • Substantial experience in patient care
  • Experience in working autonomously in an emergency or other unscheduled care environment or working autonomously within a GP surgery.
  • Experience of clinical supervision
  • Experience of implementing evidence-based care
  • Experience of team / service/ staff management.
  • Experience of conducting research projects and audit
  • Experience of change management and implementing change in practice
