• Substantial experience as a Band 6 in an emergency department.
• Experience of taking charge in an emergency department.
• Ability to prioritise patient care and the allocation of resources.

Responsibilities

• Support the Emergency Department in achieving government targets.
• Assist with budgeting and resource management.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, and staff appraisals.

Skills

IV drug administration

Competence in triage

Evidence of clinical competence in critical care assessment

Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team

Experience of managing performance within the PDP process

Education

Registered Paediatric Nurse

Current NMC registration

APLS or equivalent

BSc or equivalent post registration course

Module in emergency care
