Company Description

Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro‑chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Job Description

The role involves preparing and packaging products for shipment in line with customer specifications and company packing standards, ensuring correct quantities and conducting final quality checks before packing. Responsibilities include printing and attaching identification labels, safely loading and unloading transport vehicles, and handling goods in a way that prevents damage or deterioration. All storage, handling and shipping activities must follow the company’s Integrated Management Procedures and be carried out with a strong focus on safety.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has experience working in a logistics environment and using IT systems for workload management and booking processes, with additional value placed on familiarity with logistics storage and material‑handling systems. They should hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and be capable of inspecting work to both company and customer standards, demonstrating strong numerical reasoning, a methodical work style, and effective self‑management. Key personal qualities include enthusiasm, a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. A full driving licence is essential, and possessing a forklift truck (FLT) licence is desirable.
