Job summary

A caring family support service in Rhyl seeks a compassionate Personal Assistant to help a 7-year-old with Autism enjoy stimulating activities and daily care. Qualifications

Overview

TERM TIME (weekends only) - 3 hours per week or 6 hours per fortnight
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - 10 hours per week (flexible days and times)
£13.20 per hour

Personal assistant required funded through a direct payment, to enable a happy, smiley 7-year-old female access stimulating and purposeful activities with 1:1 supervision to ensure their personal safety at all times. The individual is a big Pepper Pig fan and enjoys listening to songs and playing with bubbles. The individual is non-verbal and has a diagnosis of Autism with little to no danger awareness. The family are looking for a Personal Assistant to support their daughter to meet her daily care needs which would include support with washing, dressing and feeding, supporting & providing fun stimulating activities, full supervision during activities and opportunities to develop social skills.

This is a fantastic and highly rewarding opportunity for someone to work within a supportive and friendly family home, supporting an individual on a 1:1 basis to meet their outcomes and needs.

Responsibilities
  • To meet daily care needs such as dressing, washing and feeding.
  • To access and engage in sensory activities and stimulation such as baking.
  • To provide safety support and supervision at all times.
  • To develop independence and social skills and own awareness of personal dangers.
Essential skills/experience
  • Experience of working with children
  • Experience of working with individuals with ASD
  • Driving licence (family are willing to add right applicant to family car insurance)
