We're looking for a Apprentice Regulatory Compliance Officer. Interested?

The team

Poor housing standards and management of privately rented properties pose a threat to people's health and spoil residents' enjoyment of their area. The council's private housing team improves private housing conditions, supports vulnerable people and tackles housing related crime.

About the role

We have an existing opportunity for 2 x Apprentice Regulatory Compliance Officers to join the team. If you are looking for a career that is varied, challenging, and rewarding, then this is an excellent pathway for you.

The role will include progressively more complex work throughout an apprenticeship period whilst you are supported to complete the Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer (Housing) Apprenticeship.

When you're not studying you'll work alongside experienced officers to engage with tenants and landlords, assess housing standards, process property licence applications, identify regulatory breaches and investigate non-compliance with housing related laws.

• You'll spend 1 day per week working towards Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer (Housing) Apprenticeship, with a work based mentor to help you through the course, with the other 4 days each week working amongst experienced officers to help you develop your skills.

Requirements

• Have G&SE English and Maths - Grade 9-4 (Grades A -') or equivalent
• Have an understanding of the role of the council as a regulator of housing standards
• Have good verbal and written communication skills
• Be computer literate
• Have experience of working in a customer focused environment and of teamwork
• Have well developed planning, organisational and communication skills and ability to apply a methodical approach to problem solving
